Place: Apartment 19th Arrondissement
Steven’s current apartment is in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. His mother Brigitte bought it after selling her company, and Steven renovated it to his taste. He moved in in 2024 after a period of instability following Apartment Bastille.
Physical setup
The apartment is cross-ventilated and has more than one room. One side looks toward brutalist towers. The bathroom window looks north-east over Paris and gives a broader, quieter view than the street below. It is on the second floor, on a one-way street, with a Lidl below.
The central feature is the absence of a vis-à-vis. That matters because being seen activates masking for Steven. In the Bastille studio, the opposite apartment had been close enough to keep the curtains closed for months. Here, the visual field is less exposed.
Function
Steven describes the apartment as a direct support to his recovery. He says that moving in helped him keep hope and continue moving forward. The apartment is not only a place of residence. It is the condition that made a more stable work rhythm possible.
Domestic repair
The cat returned to live with him after spending too long at his mother’s place during the unstable period. He also notes that the bureau was still not fully arranged in the February-March 2026 chronicle. That unfinished workspace matters because the apartment functions both as home and as working environment.
