Ms. Rahmati
Ms. Rahmati was the teacher who assigned free-writing homework during Steven’s California semester in 2018. Her assignment became the formal starting point for the earliest journal entries in the corpus.
The assignment
The first journal entries address Ms. Rahmati directly and were written as homework. Steven was supposed to write within a limited frame, but the entries quickly exceeded that frame.
He apologized for not staying inside the instructions and noted that he had never been good at applying rules. The assignment therefore created an immediate tension between school form and private depth.
Role in the journal
Ms. Rahmati matters because the wiki’s first source material began as an external writing exercise. The personal chronicle did not start as a purely private project. It began as assigned reflection and then became something larger.
This gives the California journal a distinctive tone: formal address, apology, self-analysis, and the first signs of the pattern that would later become central.
